Project: Southern Horizon       Series: Horizons

Tasmania is a special place with unique landscapes and remote wilderness. It's a place of remote wilderness, high mountains, amazing beaches and immense rainforests. It's harsh yet beautiful, and it is a playground for those that embrace the outdoors. In 2018 a journey south for 6 weeks began, to allow time to really escape into this wilderness paradise. This trip presented all the ingredients this island state has to offer, with extended weeks of rain to patches of cloudless days without a breath of wind that seemed to never end. The goal of this project was to capture the stark differences in ecosystems within a relatively short distance from each other.

A trip to this far south is never without its challenges of wind, rain and cold, but these elements have shaped this island into a unique and special place to photograph.
