If there was a lesson I learnt during our first large trip to Western Australia, it was to get up in the morning and go anyway. I could look at weather predictions, weather maps and cloud cover overviews online, but just getting up and going in the mornings really was the best option.
On this day I drove to this location under the cover of really thick cloud, I was thinking to myself that I would be lucky to see any colour at sunrise. But because of that, maybe I could create something else, something different. On arrival, I made my way down to the beach here and lined up a portrait composition and waited. Even when I was getting ready, my exposure time was still over one minute. I knew this meant the cloud movement would be shown, the water would be blurred and something unusual may be created on film.
