The pure waters of Toorongo River in Victoria are so clear and cool and are home to some of the biggest fresh water crayfish I have ever seen. What a stunning location this is, the further you walk up the river the thicker and more inviting the rainforest becomes. We camped not far from this location and the sound of the river running just down from our campsite was a soothing experience. Wild trout live here too, the region is well known for its fishing.
At just an hour and a half from Melbourne this is yet another location that feels as though it is a world away.
