Exmouth, Western Australia

While we were in Karijini National Park, some 800 kilometers east, the coastal town of Exmouth had received nearly 300mm of rain in thirty hours. It was safe to assume that the entire town would be flooded. So after a few extra days we arrived in Exmouth to view the devastation for ourselves. There was still water everywhere and the main national park, Cape Range, was closed until further notice.
We managed to find many other locations and this was one of the few that really caught my eye. It was at the Exmouth boat harbour and was the furthest we could drive before the road into Cape Range was closed. On this special afternoon the elements came together. I was in my element as the sunset was mirrored in a flooded coastal creek.
