As the low morning light is cast through the erupting waves as they explode onto the rock ledge at Depot Beach, I manage to get myself close enough to the waters edge to capture this dramatic scene. This is a scene that works so well in big swells or high tides. As the water pushes onto the ledge and then escapes again the movement that it creates causes a smoothing effect that is so photogenic. This is a classic location for coastal photography. With sandy beaches, high cliffs and many rocky outcrops and islands I could explore this National Park for weeks to find its treasures
