As I approached the mouth of Sussex Inlet in the pre dawn light, I was delighted to see an estuary so full of life. The water seemed to be moving incredibly fast as it emptied into the ocean, I can't remember the last time I saw an estuarine body of water like this in this area that I would clearly not be able to walk across.
As the sun rose I could see that all sorts of seabirds were making the most of the bait fish on offer. There was one Pelican, further down, that would fly to just this side of the red marker and then just drift down with the tide and pick up his breakfast along the way. Out on the horizon a large storm approaches and ever so quickly the conditions change, covering the sun and the dawn light is gone.
