The sun rises and the colorful rays are cast onto the clouds on the horizon. I had been photographing on the rocks further around to the right of this beach to try to capture the dawn light. When the sun started to rise I decided to move and use the rock as a strong foreground piece. I only had to walk around three hundred meters from my campsite to get to this spot. It was a memorable trip with such a beautiful coastline rich in history.
With Ben Boyd National Park just around to the right, many reminders can be seen in this area of the prosperous whaling history.
