This photograph was taken on a day that I will never forget, the true wild nature of the mountains was on display. Driving up to this area with a forecast of snow, I was looking forward to a day of low light and moderate winds where I could get into some spots that required low contrast to really stand out. What I got was far more extreme than what I and many other visitors had expected. I had been here a few times before to try and capture this location with fresh snow, sometimes there would be very little and other times so much that the creek was completely hidden.
As the morning crept on the winds began to blow harder and harder. True blizzard conditions were being dished out with very low visibility, perfect for snow gums photography.
