This photograph was taken on a day that I will never forget, the true wild nature of the mountains was on display. Driving up to this area with a forecast of snow, I was looking forward to a day of low light and moderate winds where I could get into some spots that required low contrast to really stand out. What I got was far more extreme than what I and many other visitors had expected. One week before taking this photograph I visited this area to re-photograph a nearby creek. When I visited to capture this photograph, around a week later, the creek was no where to be seen due to the meter of fresh snow that had fallen.
As the morning crept on the winds began to
blow harder and harder. True blizzard conditions were being dished out
