The beautiful lines and texture created by the shedding bark of this snow gum are a very unique and distinctive feature. Capturing these magnificent trees as they drop their skin whilst in meters of snow is a special experience when you get the right conditions.
I had walked around this area below South Rams Head many times in the past, each time finding something a little different. I am still wanting to re-visit, to see what else is available. The fires of 2003 seemed to skip some of the pockets up here and the photographs are so very worth the walk in.
