I was standing on a large snow drift on this crisp morning to capture the stunning reflective light. The snow drift was acting just like a big reflector, lighting up the twisted limbs of this old snow gum, as if they were on show. I had been photographing further up the Main Range before dawn and decided to go back to camp a different way. This is when I found this classic photograph.
The high country is so very special in winter. I can never wait for the snow to return so I can get up to this amazing place again with my camera.
