It has taken a number of years of planning to achieve a photograph of this captivating view at sunset. Many previous trips have been foiled by near impossible weather. Towards the end of the 2011 winter months, I decided to try again and in late August I was graced with a number of magnificent clear days where I could hike in and fulfill my plan. Two or three hundred meters below me was my camp site, a fantastic spot with a view up to this amazing location near the top of South Rams Head.
From this vantage point it is possible to see the Main Range of Kosciuszko National Park covered in several meters of snow, a truly magnificent place that has to be experienced.
