The alarm went off well before dawn on this morning and my entire family rose to venture to Monkey Mia to see and feed the dolphins there. Whilst this was an amazing experience that we couldn't wait for, on the way we had planned to stop off at this jetty in Denham to photograph the dawn colour.
We arrived and parked the car within close walking distance and after a second look, realised a number of turtles were briefly swimming in the waters just below us. Whilst all this was happening and in amongst the excitement, I set up my camera and we turned our attention to the dawn colour.
Another set of long exposure photographs followed, merging the light together and flattening the scene. What I enjoy about this photograph is the weathered jetty reaching out into the calm clear waters of Shark Bay surrounded by amazing, ambient dawn light.
