REMNANTS
Lennard River Gorge, The Kimberley, Western Australia

The drive into this location is everything we expected in this part of Australia. Rough corrugations, deep water crossings and a long walk from the car park to reach this special place. Around half way through the walk it started to rain lightly. It was so humid that my clothes, once again, were soaking wet but I was on a mission.

Not long after the halfway point, I came across two other walkers that had no food or water and they were struggling. I managed to share some of my water and continued on. I found this vantage point last, after venturing down into the gorge itself. On my way out I thought about a different angle and this was not far from my exit point.

I had been in here for some hours and it was starting to get dark. I managed to fire off one photograph, packed up and started the walk out.

The Kimberley is a place like no other I have visited. It is rough and makes you work for it, but the results are just amazing and so very worth it.
